H11 steel is one of the three most commonly used hot work die steel, the carbide in the steel is small, uniform distribution.
Good cold and hot fatigue resistance and corrosion resistance, good hot and cold workability, good hardenability.
In the medium temperature has a thick thermal strength, oxidation resistance, high toughness and wear resistance.
H11 steel has slightly higher toughness than H13 steel, which requires heat treatment, and the general application hardness is 50-54HRC.
Commonly used this steel for fixed and moving mold inserts, the steel concentrates high hardness and high toughness, in line with many requirements of hot work mold steel. The main alloy components are chromium, molybdenum and vanadium, which are melted by the process of electroslag remelting.

H11 Steel Forging
H11 tool steels are forged at 900- 1120°C .Reheat is necessary when temperature below 900°C ,AISI H11 steel should be cooled as slowly as possible in the furnace,annealing is recommended after forged.
H11 Steel Stress Relieving
Stress relieving to remove machining stresses should be carried out by heat to 650°C, holding for one hour at heat, cooling in the furnace. This operation is performed to reduce distortion during heat treatment.
H11 Steel Annealing
Heating slowly and uniformly to 845~900℃, furnace cooling to 540℃ at a rate 10~20℃ per hour, obtain hardness HB 229 max.
H11 Steel Hardening
Harden from a temperature of 1000-1040℃ followed by air, oil quenching or warm bath quenching 500-550℃
C. Hardness after quenching is 50-56 HRC.
H11 Steel Tempering
Temper at 540°C to 650°C for Rockwell C hardness of 54 to 38.Temper minimum twice with intermediate cooling to room temperature. Holding time at temperature is minimum 2 hours.
